Sometimes knowing that a coach or Instructor is watching you can motivate you to stay focused and work hard . 

If you have something to think about , time will go by much faster than if your mind is wandering . I also do a great job of changing up sets ,  keeping workouts interesting and challenging you . 

Swimming with lane-mates and getting to know other people on the team can make swimming feel like less of a chore and more social .
